Reminders 03:21
I wish that you could see How lonely life has been Here without you Here without you I do my best to change But it's just not the same What I'm used to What I'm used to And all that I can see are Reminders Of a life that used to be Far behind us Never tire of the melody But I need to set it free Now it's over Now it's over And all that I can see are Reminders Of a life that used to be Far behind us The things that we don't see They remind us of the pain we feel And a life that used to be Stays inside us All that I can see, all that I can see All that I can see And all that I can see are Reminders Of a life that used to be Far behind us The things that we don't see They remind us of the pain we feel And a life that used to be © Lisa Redford Stays inside us

Outside your window a parade You spend the whole time in the shade It’s summer and you’re free So far away but you’re home You never felt so afraid Or ever felt so awake It’s summer on the L Strangers become lovers when it’s Summer on the L Brand new friends then strangers again You keep the loneliness at bay By running round and round all day Memories return from another world That you left behind, just distract the mind You’ll do your best to survive At last you know you’re alive It’s summer on the L Strangers become lovers when it’s Summer on the L Brand new friends then strangers again It’s summer on the L You can just start over again Just wipe those tired heavy eves From endless nights, left you sleep deprived This is a choice that you made and you could turn around any day It’s summer on the L Strangers become lovers when it’s Summer on the L Brand new friends then strangers again It’s summer on the L Strangers become lovers It’s summer on the L You can just start over again Over again, over again…

You put your keys on the table and huddle up by the stove The radio is your company, you never felt so alone So feed the cats and just go to bed On borrowed sheets and borrowed time Hoping tomorrow you’ll find a way Heaven knows you’ve tried But you feel so tired Will you always be chasing a dream Where nobody knows how you really feel Forever lost but forever free Will you ever know, where you should go Forever dreaming in crowds More than you know is allowed Waiting and hoping for life to turn around Another unknown platform, no destination in mind No matter where you are going to there’s something you can’t find No matter how you try Will you always be chasing a dream Where nobody knows how you really feel Forever lost but forever free Will you ever know where you should go Forever dreaming in crowds More than you know is allowed Waiting and hoping for life to turn around You wonder if it’s your destiny to be lost You ran away now you have the time to count the cost Will you always be chasing a dream Where nobody knows how you really feel Forever lost but forever free Will you ever know where you should go Forever dreaming in crowds More than you know is allowed Waiting and hoping for life to turn around You put your keys on the table and huddle up by the stove The radio is your company, you never felt so alone. © Lisa Redford

‘So Many Words’ There are so many words I’d like to say to you Missed so many moments and you never knew Now those times they mean nothing when your heart’s in pain I feel it in my bones I’ll never be the same And I feel so far from where you are and where I should be now I know I changed, the heart can stray and roam free And I’m sorry There were so many times I never showed I cared Guess that I was just foolish, thinking you’d still be here There were so many feelings, far beyond control And so many reasons, more than you will know And I feel so lost, none to trust It haunts me to this day Though I’m stronger now, I still feel down and lonely And I’m sorry Am I different now? am I different now? Oh I’m no different now, I’m no different now There are so many words I’ll never say to you Missed so many moments and you never know Now those times they mean nothing when your world has changed I feel it in my soul I’ll never be, I’ll never be the same. © Lisa Redford

about

UK/US based Lisa Redford ("one of our finest singer/songwriters" Bob Harris) returns with a beautiful and heartfelt new EP 'Reminders'. Taking the listener on a warm intimate musical journey, 'Reminders' is a combination of acoustic and band songs with Lisa playing her acoustic guitar against a background of bass, piano, strings and drums played by some of New York City's finest musicians. The release continues her strong melodic sensibility and gift for well-crafted songs.

EP teaser: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zohU850Oszg

'Reminders' was recorded in Brooklyn, NYC and produced by Jeff Hill a respected and incredibly talented musician who has also played with the likes of Rufus Wainwright, Teddy Thompson, Neal Casal and Erin McKeown. As well as playing electric and double bass, Jeff contributes keyboards, cello and backing vocals. All tracks also feature keyboardist Didi Gutman, composer and arranger for the Grammy Award-nominated Brazilian Girls. It has already received great reviews and airplay on Bob Harris's BBC Radio 2 show.

Praise for ‘Reminders’

‘She’s got such fantastic warmth to her music..a wonderful artist’ Bob Harris

“I was taken aback at the maturity in both her vocals and songwriting…The production quality is superlative, the songs exceptionally well-written, especially the opening “Reminders” with the intuitive lyrics. “Dreaming In Crowds” is a gently flowing harmonic beauty with a kind of Carole King feel, without in any way sounding like the legendary singer-songwriter. Here’s a young lady who’s blossomed into a mighty fine singer-songwriter deserving of the widest possible recognition. I think it’s time that she took the plunge and recorded a full album with similar quality songs and production as this … it would be a world-beater.” Maverick Magazine ****

‘UK-based singer/songwriter Lisa Redford continues to treat her fans to more of her lyrical mastery with her latest EP, “Reminders.” The riveting title track shows the continued maturation of Lisa’s already distinct style, while “Summer on the L” offers a delightful sense of fun.’ NY Examiner

‘a delightful ep that really captures the essence of the songs.’ Fatea Magazine

‘Lisa Redford has a lovely, warm voice that her self-written songs about personal life experiences can effortlessly carry. Think in terms of vocal style similar to singers like Tift Merritt and Shawn Colvin.’ Roots Time, Belgium

‘A nice voice and a quality-written track, I love it! Seshny Blog

“Reminders” is an EP with personal songs that can really speak to you. The lyrics are relatable and the arrangements are clever and never get in the way of the story or the message. They actually enrich the songs and make them better as a whole. In conclusion we can say that Lisa Redford presents us with another very good release that showcases her talent as a very special singer/songwriter with a very own and unique sound. The crossover between her British heritage and her American influences helps to accentuate her uniqueness in her vocals and songwriting. To make a long story short, “Reminders” is a very fine new release by Lisa Redford’ Inner Ear Media, The Netherlands

‘A beatiful vocal on this poignant track by Lisa showing strong lyrical content accompanied by a haunting melody.’ Ralph’s Life Music Blog

‘well crafted lyrics and Redford’s crystal clear vocals.’ Quirky NY Chick

‘Sensational and spellbinding’ Alive with Clive, NY
